The Executive Management Council (EMC) of CREN is the apex leadership committee which undertakes the overall responsibility of managing the day to day affairs of the council, setting policies and carrying out such policies all geared towards the growth, awareness and nationwide utilization of renewable energy technologies and applications in Nigeria.

Chief. Mrs. Anita Nana Okuribido is known widely as ‘Mama Renewable Energy’ for her passionate zeal towards championing the cause of renewable energy in Nigeria. Having previously held the position of Secretary General in CREN for several years, she has garnered an enviable knowledge and expertise of the global and national renewable energy sector and her core drives remain the empowerment of rural homesteads, agricultural development and sustainability. She is a Deputy President of the Naccima Women Group (NAWOG) and a member of Ecowas Women group. She is also the Managing Director of Siman Engineering and a member of the organizing committee of the Nigeria PV Solar Energy Conference (Solarcon).

Pharm. Bolade Soremekun

Vice President.

Mr Bolade Soremekun, with an MBA degree from New York University, has developed expertise and interest in Renewable Energy (RE) and Climate Change issues including utilization of R.E Technologies as a mitigation strategy to help reduce emissions and how they affect businesses. He is the founder and CEO of BAS Consulting, a Renewable Energy and Environment consulting firm; Rubitec Solar, a Renewable Energy company providing solar, inverter, and energy efficiency solutions, and Rubitec Power, providing gas generators from 2G-Africa, a German firm, for embedded and captive generation utilizing pipeline gas, CNG, and biogas for her clients. He is also the founder of IREC-Africa, a renewable energy NGO and also the founder of the International Renewable Energy Conference, one of the foremost platforms for stakeholders in the sector. A Proficient and highly sought after speaker, he has attended several international conferences, seminars and workshops and is a member of American Council of Renewable Energy (ACORE); Member, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP); Member, Methane to Markets Partnership (M2M); Member, Africa Renewable Energy Alliance (AREA). He has been a speaker in many conferences, seminars, workshops and roundtables.

Engr. Emmanuel Rotimi Oladimeji

Secretary General

Engr. Rotimi Oladimeji is committed to the development of renewable energy and its practical applications. A graduate of Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO, he has exceptional interests in Agricultural, Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. An innovator, he Designed and installed the first ever Solar Powered Borehole prototype in Ondo, Osun, Edo and Imo States. He also identified corrosiveness of Indian Mark III hand pumps in most boreholes in the rural communities of Ondo state and proffered the solution which saved more than 80,000 village people from the use of 300 contaminated borehole water hand pumps between 2009 and 2010. He was the Designer of the KAMOMI WATER Supply Scheme in Ondo State, which got the Governor the 2013 Water Awards of Excellence as the Best Governor in the South West in 21st March 2013 by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in Abuja. The Scheme provides 80% -100% of potable water supply in a benefited community. A professional of unflagging commitment, Engr. Rotimi was responsible for the preparation of the standard BEME specification for hand pump and solar pump installed boreholes which have been in use since 2003 till date in PPMU office. Having attended various conferences and seminars globally and represented the Ondo State Government as well as leading State delegations to strategic workshops, he has a bias for water, sanitation and renewable energy technologies. A registered COREN engineer, he is a Member of several professional bodies including; Nigerian Water Supply Association(NWSA), Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE), Institute of Appraisers and Cost Engineers (IACE), Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN), Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) and Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers amongst others. Presently, he is the HEAD, Water Supply & Maintenance Department of Ondo State Water and Sanitation Agency.

Sam Ifeanyi Nwosu, a political science graduate of the University of Nigeria, UNN has been a practicing journalist covering diverse beats which has instilled an understanding of the various realities of the Nigerian Business sector and their interactions with the environment. The Executive Director of Nature Hedge, a budding media communications and publishing firm, he is the Editor of the newly launched Environment Africa Magazine, conceptualized to change and enhance cross-sector understanding and participation in the Environment. He also doubles as the Project Coordinator of the Annual Nigeria Photovoltaic Energy Conference ‘Solarcon’ and is a member of the Organizing Committee of International Renewable Energy Conference (IREC).

He has a deep interest in bottom-of- the-pyramid (BOP) development interventions and also utilization of renewable energy technologies and applications, and also in the use of enhanced dynamic communication initiatives and skills to promote knowledge and understanding of Environmental considerations in the Nigerian society and economic sectors.

For several years, Prof. Kuku successfully piloted the affairs of the Council For Renewable Energy Nigeria, holding forte as the inaugural president and positioning it over the years as the foremost organization for the propagation of renewable energy technology in Nigeria, overseeing the growth of the membership to over 500 strong despite the lack of institutional support. During this period, he also chaired the executive council of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and has delivered quite a number of papers and presentations on Various aspects of renewable energy, most especially Solar Energy to local and international audiences.



On November 13, 2014 during the Nigeria Photovoltaic Energy Conference ‘Solarcon’, the first ever Advisory Boardof the Council For Renewable Energy Nigeria was inaugurated. This was borne out of a need to ensure quality of advise as well as utilize the experience of varied expertise towards the large scale implementation of Renewable Energy in Nigeria.

Members of the Board were drawn out of notable professionals with varied experiences and expertise to have a reflection of the various concerns regarding Renewable Energy for total understanding of the issues involved in Renewable Energy Development. From the royal house, to government, to the power sector to women groups, media, oil and gas to agriculture; the members of the Board represent a stunning array of accumulated and practical expertise.

Prof. Engr. Abubakar Sani Sambo, NPOM, OON

Currently, the Special Adviser on Energy to the President, Prof. Sambo hardly needs any introduction. He was a former Vice Chair, Africa Region of the World Energy Council, Past D.G of Energy Commission Nigeria (ECN), Former Vice Chancellor, Kaduna State University and Ahmadu Bello University. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering and Nigerian Society of Engineers. Member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), International Solar Energy Society (ISES), International Energy Foundation (IEF), Member of the World Renewable Energy Network (WREN), Member of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and also Member of the Nigerian Academy of Science. Prof. Sambo has published more than 200 articles in journals, conference proceedings and technical reports. Professor Sambo is the Nigerian Representative at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Honorary Officer of World Energy Council and Chair, WEC Nigeria member Committee. He is a recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit and also National Awardee as Officer of Order of the Niger.

Oba Engr. Isiaka Olajide Ajede

His Royal Highness, Oba Isiaka Olajide Ajede, the Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo–Ijebu in Ogun State, Nigeria, the first crowned traditional ruler of the Town, on the day of his coronation said that his belief was “the rules of yesterday no longer apply and we are daily confronted with new realities, fresh challenges and remarkable opportunities. And my people should adjust their outlook to life so that they can reap the gains of a new dawn”. Those gains are what he aspires to bring to not just his kingdom but also Nigeria through the development of Renewable Energy in the country. An Engineer by training, he recently signed through his company, Egja-Meceng an MOU for the development of a 5mw Solar Power Plant for University of Ilorin, Kwara State. There is also an African Village Resort with over 30 chalets, whose exclusive power source would be Solar Energy.

He brings a wealth of experience and people knowledge to the board, with extensive interests in Agriculture and entrepreneurship development.

Engr. Otis Anyaeji is a professional’s professional. He has shown the capacity of Nigerian professionals to undertake the most complex projects which formerly were denied Nigerian professionals due to a perceived lack of competency and capacity. His firm, Otis Engineering is notably the national consultant for the National Integrated Power Projects, NIPP, the bedrock of Nigeria’s quest for adequate power generation alongside Lahmeyer International, a german company, Consultant for the Ajaokuta Steel Plant Construction Project, Afam IV Thermal Power Station, Katsina Wind Energy Construction Project, Kainji and Jebba Hydropower Stations.

Engr. Anyaeji has over 36 years of experience in multiple engineering sectors that includes Electric Power, Automobiles, Steel, and Oil & Gas. Prior to founding O.T OTIS, Anyaeji worked in various engineering roles for Peugeot, the Nigerian Ports Authority, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. He was instrumental to the establishment of the Center for Automotive Design and Development and was appointed Chairman of National Automotive Council on the backdrop of the excellent work done on the drafting of the National Automotive Policy in 1993 which was approved by the President.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka(UNN), he has been chairman of several institutes including pioneer chairman of Regulation and Control Committee (COREN), the Institute of Cost Appraisers &Cost Engineers, Automotive Engineers institute and currently the Chairman of Electric Power Foundation. He has also held several positions in the Nigerian Society of Engineers and is currently the deputy and incoming National President of NSE.

Chief Mrs Betty Ubeku has contributed, in a unique way, to charity and got involved in a number of non-governmental Organization (NGOs) for the uplift of the poor and humanity. Mrs. Ubeku’s first link with the humanitarian services was with the Save Our Souls (SOS) Children’s Village, Isolo, Lagos.

A member of the Preparatory Team Steering Committee to Dakar, in 1994 and China in 1995, she prepared and presented a finished Craft Work on behalf of Nigerian women for twining at the Great Wall for Peace in Beijing, China. At the same conference, Mrs. Ubeku was among those who received a “Torchlight” a Baton to touch other women including the children. Following this, she initiated a Networking Organization named Women Care Association of Nigeria [WOCAN]with Motto: Reach Out And Touch. Mother And Child Survival. In 1997, due to her sterling quality, Mrs. Ubeku was among those nominated as member of the Steering Committee of the West African Women Association (WAWA) and in 2007 she was nominated as the Focal Person of the West African Women Association (WAWA), Nigeria. She has since combined coordination of the overall objective of WAWA to WOCAN, which is to mobilize and encourage women participation in regional economic integration decision and recognizes the role renewable energy can play in meeting these objectives.

A finance guru and energy expert, Victor Eromoseleis the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of SolarBrite E. Initiative, an educational charity which promotes extended reading time for the underprivileged at school through the provision of alternative lighting using clean energy solutions. He also doubles as the Editor In Chief of GoSolar Journal, a semi-annual publication dedicated to actively promoting and shedding light on solar and renewable energy technologies. This, he undertakes alongside his speaking commitments on Solar and Energy Issues as well as consultancy in the Oil and Gas sector as the Chairman of Mentor Energy Consulting Ltd.

With over 34 decades of experience, Mr. Eromosele has garnered far ranging dynamic experience and expertise in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, having held management positions in NNPC-NAPIMS and NLNG. Victor has two books to his credit, including the widely acclaimed Nigerian Petroleum Business - A Handbookand numerous published articles and commentaries.

In 2011, the world economic forum instituted a grant program to recognize and aid technology pioneers in the world. Out of the hundreds of applications received, Quintas made the shortlist of 10 initiatives that eventually got announced as the 2011 Technology Pioneers. Quintas Energy Solutionsis the brainchild of Dr. Omotayo Dairo, a physician by training, an inventor and renewable energy entrepreneur, whose core area of primary interest is the development of clean energy for farm gate Industries application in Africa.

Dr. Dairo offers expertise in the Development and efficient utilisation of Biomass energy, through the manufacture of Top Lit Updraft (TLUD) Gasifier Stoves of different burner sizes for domestic and Industrial uses, Down Draft Gasifiers for production of tar free Syn-gas for numerous applications and fabrication of small scale farm gate Industrial machinery. Quintas also makes inverters specially designed to meet the challenges that poor and erratic power generation and distribution poses to people and businesses in Nigeria. Quintas is also planning projects to develop wind turbines, efficiently harness solar energy, harness natural gas resources to make gas turbines, dam streams for mini water-turbine power generation, and produce biogas from the country's human and animal waste. Dr. Dairo is currently putting the finishing touches to a locally fabricated biomass power generation plant.

Imamuddeen Talba is a legal and regulatory expert with decades of experience garnered at both local and international level. A lawyer by training, he was for almost two decades the Legal Advisor/Secretary of the National Insurance Corporation (NAICOM). Since leaving there, he has been at NERC holding several positions, even appointed as acting administrator/CEO of the commission before his present position as Head, Renewables, Research and Development; a position he holds alongside being a Technical Adviser to the Minister of Power. He has also being an executive member of Energy Regional Regulators Association as well as being a proficient speaker at international energy, renewable technologies and power regulatory conferences all over the world.
